What happened on April 3?
We celebrate almost a dozen events today, dating back all the way to the 18th century!
But we kick off with Apple’s release of their first generation iPad in 2010.
37 years prior to this launch, in 1973, another landmark moment happened in mobile history.
Martin Cooper of Motorola made the first-ever phone call by handheld mobile to
Joel S. Engel of Bell Labs. And technology has advanced rapidly since then, hasn’t it?
Actresses Amanda Bynes (*1986) and Cobie Smulders (*1982) were born after this revolution. Whereas actors Eddie Murphy (*1961), Alec Baldwin (*1958), Marlon Brando and Doris Day (*1922) lived through the evolution.
British primatologist Jane Goodall (*1934) is a true expert on evolution, as she has studied chimpanzees and other primates for most of her life.
Czech republic’s Tomas Bat’a (*1876) maybe didn’t know a whole lot about monkeys, but he sure was great with shoes. The Bat’a shoe brand became a global icon.
And last, but certainly not least, we celebrate our oldest birthday boy of the day; American writer & essayist Washington Irving (*1783).
Celebrating good times feels nice, right?
