What happened on January 23?
Architecture, Beauty & Joy.
These three words illustrate today’s celebrations beautifully.
Few buildings were as impressive in the year 1571 as London’s Royal Exchange, which opened on this day.
Slovenian architect Joze Plecnik (*1872) opened many of his impressive and beautiful creations over the years.
It is also the birthday of French painter Edouard Manet (*1832). Beauty in a different form.
Django Reinhard (*1910) was a true Belgian master of beauty and joy, whose tunes live on still today.
And finally, we celebrate a Dutch architect of the football field, whose moves are a joy to watch and his goals are oftentimes pure beauties: gefeliciteerd, Arjen Robben (*1984)!
Celebrating good times feels nice, right?
