What happened on March 16?
British luxury car manufacturer Rolls Royce had a big party yesterday and now hands over the confetti to General Motors. This American powerhouse produced its 100 millionth automobile on this day in 1968 – an Oldsmobile Toronado. Incredibly impressive.
And 10 years earlier, in 1958, the Ford Motor Company produced its 50 millionth automobile – a Thunderbird. Equally incredibly impressive.
Amidst the roar of all those engines and factory noises, we celebrate actor Jerome Flynn (*1963) and astronomer Caroline Herschel (*1750).
A grand ‘Hurray!’ was shouted at the end of the first English F. A. Cup final in 1872. The Wanderers F.C. beat Royal Engineers A.F.C. by the slightest possible difference: 1-0.
Celebrating good times feels nice, right?
