March 5

What happened on March 5?

Sometimes, international politics might seem a bit dull. And often, they truly are.
There are days, however, that go down the history books. Like today, when we remember the signature on a treaty that forbid the use of nuclear weapons in 1970 – The Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

There was never a dull moment with Dutch cartographer Gerardus Mercator (*1512).
He traveled and charted the globe on a world map, so that we may hang it in our living room. What a sweet man.

Also highly sweet is actress Eva Mendes (*1974). Congratulations, girl!
Such a stunning woman on the silver screen (and off-screen too, surely).

Whereas Mercator painted maps, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (*1696) painted murals.
Imagine having the combination of these two guys by your side. Not just only telling you where to travel, but also brightening up your living room. A housewife’s wild dream, these boys.

And for those not trusting maps and murals to keep them entertained, those who rather see things for themselves, you are in luck. LATAM Chile celebrates its founding day from 1929 and can take you (nearly) anywhere!
