March 8

What happened on March 8?

Bulls and Bears, read this! The New York Stock Exchange was founded on this day in 1817.
The bull stands for a market that goes up, whereas a bear market is a trader’s nightmare.

(In)famous pirate Anne Bonny (*1702) didn’t really care too much about markets going up or down. Pirates just take their plunder and take off.

Many take-offs can be seen at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, too.
From planes, however, not pirate vessels. This major international airport opened in 1974.
